Newmarket got off to a steady start against Brentwood with some good hitting from Rob Dovaston but Brentwood began to steadily increase a lead through some poor serving from Newmarket. Brentwood winning the first set 25-19.

The second set saw Newmarket start with more fire, commanding a 5 point lead at 9-4. Some increased performance from Brentwood and good serving turned the game around giving them a 5 point lead at 19-12, Newmarket could not recover from here and lost 25-20.

The third set saw both teams playing some strong consistent volleyball but Newmarket could not match Brentwood, finally losing the third set 25-19.
